Poetry is the root of literature

The main objective behind this competition was to boost the confidence of the little ones and improve their public speaking skills. The students chose various topics like nature, trees, flowers, mother, teachers, school environment, confidence etc. for their poetry recitation with great zeal and enthusiasm. They had a lot of fun reciting the poems with beautiful emotions, thoughts and rhythm. The magic of their words and innocent gestures mesmerized everyone.

While the younger participants mesmerized the audience with their innocent renditions of simple, catchy poems, the singing of the older students was characterised by better intonation and a better ability to express the emotions contained in the verses.

Thus, the poetry recitation competition was not just a competition but a celebration of the joy of language, creativity and expression. It successfully provided a platform for students to overcome stage fright, enhance their communication skills and develop a lasting appreciation for the magic of poetry.
