The students and staff of MKGM School, Kandari, celebrated Parshuram Jayanti and World Dance Day with great enthusiasm on 29th April 2025. The day was a beautiful amalgamation of spirituality, culture, and artistic expression.
The event began with a special assembly, where a soulful prayer set a divine atmosphere. A student delivered an insightful speech on Bhagwan Parshuram, highlighting his teachings and significance in Hindu tradition. Adding a dramatic touch, another student dressed as Lord Parshuram recited one of his famous quotes, leaving a lasting impression.
Vice Principal Shri Akhileshwar Upadhyay Sir then elaborated on the life of Bhagwan Parshuram and the importance of the day, inspiring students with lessons on courage, righteousness, and devotion.
The assembly took an exciting turn as the renowned scholar, artist, and polyglot Prof. Dr. Manasi Raghu Nandan arrived with her group. She was warmly welcomed by Vice Principal Sir, Manoj Gogoi Sir and Gomati Ma’am with a bouquet of flowers.
The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a mesmerizing Carnatic Bhajan sung by Master Rishikesh Raghu Nandan, invoking Goddess Saraswati and Lord Krishna.
Dr. Manasi then engaged the students with an enlightening session on Indian classical dance forms, explaining their history, significance, and various mudras (hand gestures). The students enthusiastically participated, trying out the dance postures under her guidance.
The highlight of the event was her stellar solo Odissi dance performance, which left the audience spellbound. The grace, precision, and emotion in her performance were truly captivating.
A Q&A session followed, where students asked insightful questions, which Dr. Manasi answered with patience and depth. She also spoke about the importance of dance in physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
As a token of gratitude, the school felicitated Dr. Manasi Raghu Nandan with a shawl and a memento. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Sir, who expressed appreciation for the enriching cultural experience.
