Earth Day Celebration

MKGM School, Kandari, celebrated Earth Day 2025 with great enthusiasm, organizing a series of meaningful activities to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students and the local community.
The day began with a special assembly dedicated to environmental consciousness.
The assembly commenced with a serene prayer, expressing gratitude for Earth’s abundance and seeking blessings for its preservation. A student shared an inspiring thought emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and individual responsibility. Two students recited heartfelt poems in Hindi celebrating nature’s beauty while warning against its destruction. A student delivered an enlightening speech, highlighting the significance of Earth Day, the dangers of climate change, and the need for collective action. A young girl dressed as "Mother Nature" captivated the audience, symbolizing the Earth’s nurturing yet fragile state. Students displayed handmade posters with powerful slogans like "Go Green, Save Earth," "Beat Plastic Pollution," and "Plant Trees, Secure the Future."
The Principal Mahendrasinh Vihol addressed the gathering with a thought-provoking speech, urging everyone to adopt eco-friendly habits such as reducing waste, conserving water, and planting trees. He emphasized that environmental protection is not an option but a necessity for survival.
Following the assembly, Eco Club members, along with the Principal and Vice Principal, participated in a tree plantation drive within the school campus. Mango saplings were planted, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and the school’s commitment to a greener future. Students pledged to nurture the saplings, understanding that "the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, and the second-best time is now."
In the evening, the Eco Club, accompanied by the Principal and Mr. Neeraj (Eco Club Coordinator), visited Karjan Vegetable Market to spread awareness about plastic pollution. Students distributed eco-friendly cloth bags to shopkeepers and buyers, encouraging them to replace plastic bags with sustainable alternatives. The team explained the harmful effects of plastic—how it pollutes land, chokes waterways, and endangers wildlife. They also discussed waste segregation and recycling. Many vendors and customers took a pledge to reduce plastic usage and adopt greener habits in their daily lives.
